# Destinations

> Where accepted content is delivered, how the connector shapes it, and the delivery rules that surprise people.

A **destination** is where accepted content goes. Each destination delivers to one Enterspeed source, from where the content flows into the rest of your data supply chain.

Find them under **Settings → Destinations**.

## Connector shape

| Shape          | Behaviour                                                                                  |
| -------------- | ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ |
| **Per-output** | Each generated output is delivered as its own entity. The recommendation for anything new. |
| **Merged**     | Outputs are combined into one entity.                                                      |

## Three rules that catch people out

<Warning>
  * **Only active destinations deliver.** An inactive destination silently delivers nothing.
  * **Only review-mode sessions deliver.** Preview sessions never publish, by design.
  * **Delivery is never retroactive.** Content accepted before a destination existed, or while it was inactive, is not sent when you activate it later.

Set the destination up **before** the review session that is meant to fill it.

## Verifying delivery

There is no per-item delivery receipt. Verify on the Enterspeed side instead: check that source entities arrive in the expected source and that their shape matches what your schemas expect.

  Judge the pipeline by whether the downstream publication actually succeeds, not by the quality scores alone. Good scores on content that never lands is not a working job.

## Several destinations

A configuration's accepted content can go to more than one destination — for example a production source and a staging source used for verification. Each destination is independent, with its own active state.
